ahhhhh, I wouldn't necessarily use the word depth. He is just another beating heart to put a Wild jersey on, completely replaceable.

Steel should make a nice 15th forward. Not a checker, not a scorer and not a good faceoff guy. Hopefully, he replaces Rask in the press box getting in the lineup even less. Why they paid over minimum for a guy nobody wanted is beyond me.

Hopefully, He can just play in Minnesota and not worry about expectations. He had that hat-trick game against Vancouver during his rookie year and there was just so much expected from him that never panned out. Steel should be decent on Minnesota's 4th line and on the PK, but that's about it.

His career faceoff percentage is better than Ek, Gaudreau, Hartman and Jost career faceoff percentages. If he gets his confidence back and plays to his potential this could be a good pickup.
